COFI 32 Side Event on Combatting IUU Fishing

On Thursday July 14, 2016, International MCS Network Chair Cephas Ralph will participate in an IUU-themed side event during the 32nd meeting of the Committee on Fisheries of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. The event is scheduled for lunchtime (12:30-2:00 PM) in the Iran Room. See flyer below.

Opening remarks will be delivered by Her Excellency Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Indonesia.

Co-panelists from FAO will discuss the Global Record of Fishing Vessels, Refrigerated Transport Vessels and Supply Vessels. Other panelists will include representatives from the Pew Charitable Trusts, the International Seafood Sustainability Foundation (ISSF) and Google.

The final presentation, regarding the recent report of the Review of Studies of IUU Fishing Estimates and Methodologies will be followed by a moderated discussion and Question & Answer period.
